Give your clients a self-serve way to manage their billing - updating cards, downloading invoices, canceling subscriptions - instead of emailing you. This guide covers setting up the Stripe-hosted portal, then adding the link in Coach Catalyst.
What the customer portal does
The Stripe customer portal is a secure, Stripe-hosted page where clients manage their own billing: payment methods, past invoices and receipts, subscription changes, and billing info. Stripe hosts it, so you don't need a website.
Part 1: Set up the customer portal in Stripe
Step 1: Activate your customer portal link
Go to the customer portal configuration page in your Stripe Dashboard.
Under Ways to get started, click Activate link.
This generates one login link to share with all customers.
Step 2: Configure the portal
On the same page, choose your options β whether customers can update payment methods, cancel or change subscriptions, which invoices they see, and what business info appears. Spend a few minutes here; these settings decide what clients can do on their own versus what they bring to you.
Step 3 (optional): Customize your branding
On the Branding settings page, upload your logo and pick your colors.
On the Public account settings page, check your public business name and contact info.
Step 4: Make sure your customers' emails are set
Customers log in with their email and a one-time passcode. The email they enter must match what's on file in Stripe.
A few notes:
Customers can't update their email through the portal (security feature).
No passcode arriving? Usually a mismatched email β search the Dashboard to confirm.
If multiple customers share an email, Stripe picks the most recently created one with an active subscription.
Part 2: Add the portal link to Coach Catalyst
With your link active, put it somewhere clients can find it. Adding it as a resource in Coach Catalyst keeps it inside the experience they already use.
In Coach Catalyst, go to Resources.
Create a folder called Important Links (or use an existing one). Great spot for the billing portal, scheduling page, contact info, etc.
Add a new resource link inside the folder.
Name it something clear like Manage Your Billing or Update Payment & Subscription.
Paste your Stripe customer portal link.
Add a short description: "Use this link to update your payment method, view invoices, or manage your subscription."
Save and assign it to the right clients or groups.
Done - clients have one-click access to their billing, and you've cut the back-and-forth.

Tips before you go live
Test it. Open the link in a private window using a test customer's email and walk through the flow.
Tell your clients. Send a quick note pointing them to the new link in Coach Catalyst.
Revisit settings periodically. As your business changes, adjust what clients can do on their own - anytime, from the Stripe Dashboard.
