Food Logs

Nutrition Coach best practices for doing a food log or logging foods for a client.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

There are a few ways for clients to log food inside Coach Catalyst. The most popular way will be using a 3rd party app like our preferred favorite, Macros First. Other popular food logging will be with photos or forms.

Using food tracking software

Inside Coach Catalyst, your clients can integrate with various apps, including popular trackers. Our preferred macro tracking app is MacrosFirst. When a client uses a third-party tracker, you will find all their nutrition logs until the client's profile shows undernutrition

.

Using Meal Photos

Meal photos are a great way for clients to share data with you. To create a food photo log you will want to make sure you have created the photo metrics you will use with clients. You can have one metric and call it Food Log or

create a few different metrics like Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snacks. This is up to you and your coaching preferences.

Then your clients can add the photos into the metrics tab, under photos. I do suggest an easier way, this is using forms and photos too.

Using Forms

I think using forms is one of the best ways for clients to log food inside of the app. You can not just ask for what they ate and the photo, but why they ate it or how it made them feel.
